Mindshift Center serves as the cornerstone of the State of Illinois Complex Trauma Training Consortium, offering a comprehensive national training initiative. Our training curriculum spans 20 modules, meticulously designed to equip professionals with specialized expertise in addressing Complex Trauma (CT).
Complex Trauma encompasses ongoing or recurrent exposure to interpersonal trauma within a child’s caregiving environment, leading to developmental deficits and a spectrum of psychiatric and behavioral challenges. These include emotional dysregulation, relational difficulties, dissociation, and disrupted attachment patterns.
Each module delves into critical aspects of Complex Trauma, from foundational principles to specialized domains such as community violence, LGBTQ+ youth, and substance use. Our curriculum also explores nuanced topics like provider bias, implicit racism, and white privilege, essential for fostering inclusive and culturally responsive care.
Participants will gain practical insights into evidence-based intervention strategies tailored to diverse populations, including parents, caregivers, and youth impacted by Complex Trauma. Modules also cover neurobiology, early intervention strategies, and clinical decision-making in challenging treatment scenarios.
