Sandra holds the position of Assistant Professor of Counselor Education at Adams State University, and she is a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a National Certified Counselor. With a background spanning university settings, private practice, and private school environments, Sandra views the journey of growth and healing as a collaborative effort. She prioritizes self-acceptance and supports clients in identifying and moving past patterns that no longer serve them.
Known for her welcoming and down-to-earth demeanor, Sandra isn’t afraid to gently push her clients when necessary. She thrives on infusing creativity into the counseling process and works with individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Sandra’s clinical interests include supporting LGBTQIA+ clients, addressing mental health issues among college students and young adults, navigating grief and loss, managing depression, bipolar disorder, borderline personality traits, and alleviating anxiety concerns.
Originally from the Midwest, Sandra now lives in Alamosa, CO. Outside of her professional pursuits, she enjoys staying active by working out, exploring new destinations through travel, and cherishing moments spent with her twin sister.
