Comprehensive Training Curriculum
We provide a robust training curriculum tailored to equip professionals with industry-leading skills in addressing psychological challenges and trauma-related issues. Our comprehensive modules are designed to enhance practitioners’ capabilities across diverse service settings, ensuring they can effectively support individuals of all ages.
Psychological First Aid (PFA)
Psychological First Aid (PFA) is a crucial way to help people cope better right after something really bad has happened. Dr. Angel Knoverek, through the National Child Traumatic Stress Network, supports our PFA training. It teaches how to understand different cultures and ages when giving help. People learn practical ways to help others feel better after accidents or when they lose someone important. This training helps them offer caring support right away.
Using Evidence-Based Practices in Clinical Mental Health
Our curriculum emphasizes evidence-based clinical interventions to treat trauma-related disorders effectively. Participants gain insights into cognitive-behavioral therapies, trauma-responsive strategies, and mindfulness practices to manage chronic stress and promote healing.
Complex Trauma Training Consortium – 20 Modules
Mindshift Center plays a pivotal role as the designated Complex Trauma Training Consortium for the State of Illinois under a SAMHSA-funded grant administered by Adelphi University. This initiative is closely aligned with the National Child Traumatic Stress Network, underscoring our commitment to addressing complex trauma comprehensively.
Our program encompasses 20 specialized modules that delve into developmental trauma, attachment theory, and targeted interventions tailored for a wide range of populations, including youth, immigrants, and refugees. This comprehensive approach equips professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively support individuals facing diverse trauma-related challenges, promoting healing and resilience across communities.
Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress (SPARCS)
SPARCS is a recommended group therapy intervention for adolescents exposed to chronic trauma, facilitated by Dr. Angel Knoverek. This evidence-informed approach integrates Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Adolescents (DBT-A), Trauma Adaptive Recovery – Group Education and Therapy (TARGET), and Trauma Grief Component Therapy for Adolescents (TGCT-A). SPARCS focuses on enhancing resilience and coping skills through education, validation, and therapeutic connection, empowering adolescents to navigate and overcome trauma-related challenges.
Additional Specialized Modules
Our training also includes modules on clinical supervision, spirituality, and religion in counseling, addressing religious trauma, and utilizing values and meaning-making with clients. These modules equip professionals with advanced skills to deliver comprehensive and compassionate care across diverse settings.
Through our comprehensive training curriculum, Mindshift Center is committed to preparing professionals to deliver effective, evidence-based interventions that promote healing, resilience, and holistic well-being in individuals and communities.
