Mindshift Center offers specialized training in Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress (SPARCS), a robust group model tailored for youth aged 12-21 who have encountered chronic trauma and stress. Developed as a strengths-based approach, SPARCS consists of 16 one-hour sessions strategically designed to harness adolescents’ innate resilience and augment their coping skills.
SPARCS integrates empirically-informed interventions, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Adolescents (DBT-A), Trauma Adaptive Recovery – Group Education and Therapy (TARGET), and Trauma Grief Component Therapy for Adolescents (TGCT-A). These methodologies are meticulously adapted to address the unique needs of adolescents navigating chronic trauma.
Our training equips mental health professionals, educators, and direct care service providers with the expertise to effectively implement SPARCS. Participants learn to facilitate therapeutic environments that foster education, validation, and interpersonal connections among group members. By empowering adolescents to explore and confront significant challenges, SPARCS aims to cultivate resilience and promote meaningful personal growth.
We prioritize equipping professionals with the skills necessary to support adolescents in their journey toward healing and self-discovery. Our SPARCS Training emphasizes evidence-based practices and practical strategies that align with industry standards, ensuring comprehensive and impactful care for youth facing chronic stress and trauma.
